    A New Mom’s New Year’s Resolutions

    Being a new mom means always being on the learning curve. Not having done any of this before, everyday is a learning experience, for better or for worse. Motherhood is challenging and so rewarding at the same time. In trying to overcome the challenges, I have some goals to set for myself this year. 1- Less screen time for me and baby. Benji is not allowed to watch TV or play on my phone. However, he LOVES my phone and constantly searches for it when he knows it’s nearby. For what purpose? To chew on it, of course. I’m guilty to letting him get it and play with it for a little while occasionally just so I can get five minutes of silence. Yet, I can see how just the few of minutes of holding the phone makes him obsessed and he screams when it is taken away. I need…

    Baby’s First Christmas

    Most parents look forward to baby’s first Christmas with great anticipation. My husband and I were no different. We always host Christmas at our house for my family and then make the trip to visit his family in Pennsylvania between Christmas and New Years. Between the two families and all of our friends, we figured Benji would get enough gifts so we decided to only get him two toys from Mommy and Daddy: a Mozart Cube (from Santa, really) and a baby piano like Daddy’s so they can play together. We could have gotten him nothing and he would have had a great Christmas. My husband, being our church choir director, had many gifts handed to him from our overly generous choir members. Since many of them are senior citizens, it was like Ben has 15 grandparents all spoiling him at once. The mountain under the tree just grew and…
